DIY Christmas Tree Ring Holder!

Being that there are only a couple days until Christmas, I have gone into full blast holiday mode. So a couple days ago, I starting breaking out all the tacky holiday jewelry. Being the DIY and Christmas lover I am,  I thought, how can a make a festive holder to display my jewelry? With some serious thinking and the aid of some delicious hot cocoa, the idea for a Christmas Tree Ring Holder was born! Its super easy to make and adds a whimsical touch to your room! Sooooo, if your ready, lets get started!

Materials:

  • 2 balls of yarn in different colors
  • Beads of your choice
  • Tree Base (I used the top of a little cardboard jewelry box)
  • Pencil
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Lollipop Sticks
  • Scissors
  • Sharpie & Ruler (not pictured because I just completely forgot to put them in)
Here We Go!!!!!

Step 1: Take your scissors and cut off the eraser so you have a flat bottom. Its important for the bottom to be flat because this will be transformed in the trunk which will be glued to the base so we don't want it to wobbling everywhere!!!

Step 2: Time to create the tree stems?ummm...foliage? Well basically the lollipop sticks will encompass and represent all the other parts of the tree that stem from the trunk. So measure off with your sharpie and cut two of the following: 1 1/2 in, 3 in, 3 1/2 in. So you should end up with 6 pieces in total.

Step 3: This step is more of a checkpoint. Layout your framework and make sure your satisfied with the lollipop stick lengths and how it looks. If your not satisfied, well, change it to your liking haha!

Step 4: Using your hot glue gun, glue the end of roll of yarn to the bottom of the pencil. Begin to wrap the yarn around the pencil. That is literally all you have to do; just continually wrap the yarn around the pencil, there is no fancy method or anything! Once you completely wrap the pencil cut the yarn and hot glue the end of the yarn to the other end of the pencil.

Step 5: Complete this same process with all you lollipop sticks except use the other color of yarn :) Now we are ready to assemble your tree! Using the general idea of the layout you came up with in step 3, hot glue the ends of the lollipop sticks to the trunk (pencil). Make sure your smallest lollipop sticks are glued closest to the pencil tip side. Follow with the medium length sticks and, finally, the longest lollipop sticks.

Step 6: Time for my favorite part! DECORATING! Just glue your choice of beads anyway you like on your tree. I decided to glue mine on the bottom of each stick but above I show two different places you can glue them. I added a little star ornament on top of the tree to really make it look like a Christmas tree! Remember to glue the decorations anyway you want!JUST GO CRAZYYYY!!!! WOOHOO!!!

After the tree is decorated to your liking, hot glue the place where you cut off the eraser to your base (which you can also decorate), and then your done with your own little wonderful Christmas tree ring holder!

Thanks for reading! I hoped you enjoyed this post, this is my first DIY post so I'm sorry if its a little confusing! If you guys have any questions on any of the steps, please feel free to leave them in the comments below!
